General Manager of a Business Hotel

Job Overview

As a General Manager at our business hotel, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's operations and ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional service to business travelers and maintaining a profitable and well-functioning establishment. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies to drive business growth, maximize revenue, and increase market share within the business travel sector.
2. Operations Management: Efficiently manage all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Sales and Marketing, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to company standards.
3. Budgeting and Financial Control: Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitor financial performance, and take necessary measures to optimize revenue and control expenses.
4. Staff Recruitment and Training: Recruit, train, and mentor a highly skilled team of professionals to deliver exceptional service. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to ensure consistent improvement.
5. Guest Experience: Ensure that guest satisfaction is prioritized throughout all areas of the hotel. Maintain high levels of customer service by promptly addressing feedback and resolving issues.
6. Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, and other industry partners to enhance guest bookings and promote the hotel's services.
7. Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce hotel policies, standards, and procedures to maintain quality and consistency across all operations.
8. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Implement and monitor procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for all guests and staff members.
9. Sales and Marketing: Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to develop effective promotional strategies, revenue management plans, and sales initiatives to attract and retain corporate clientele.
10. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on hotel performance, financials, and guest feedback. Analyze market trends, competition, and guest preferences to identify opportunities for improvement and devise appropriate strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hotel industry.

  • Strong knowledge of business hotel operations, including reservations, revenue management, and customer relationship management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with guests, staff, and business partners.

  • Proficiency in hotel management systems and software.

  • Strong leadership abilities and the capability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of local labor and employment laws and regulations.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
