Job Description:
1. Menu Planning and Execution: Create and develop innovative and appealing menus that reflect the resort's commitment to using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards, maintaining consistency and quality throughout.
2. Kitchen Management: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to all health and safety regulations. Manage and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to achieve optimal performance.
3. Vendor Relations and Inventory Management: Establish and maintain relationships with local suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality ingredients. Monitor and control inventory levels, minimizing waste and maximizing cost efficiency.
4. Training and Development: Lead by example, fostering a culture of ongoing learning and development within the kitchen team. Provide training and guidance to enhance culinary skills, and encourage teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control: Collaborate with management to develop and manage the kitchen budget, ensuring that all expenses are controlled within approved limits. Implement strategies to achieve cost reduction without compromising on quality and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chef, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, ideally in a luxury resort or fine-dining establishment.
2. Strong culinary and creative skills, with a thorough understanding of international and regional cuisines and a flair for innovative menu development.
3. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of kitchen staff.
4. In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards in kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
5. Proven ability to manage costs, control inventory, and implement effective strategies to achieve financial targets.
