AccorHotels is reaffirming its commitment and has chosen to focus on the issue of invisible disabilities which are very common yet largely unknown and still misunderstood. Supporting our employees, raising their awareness, mobilizing them to change perceptions and encouraging dialogue… these are the everyday challenges faced by our Group.

AccorHotels is spotlighting and celebrating the theme of invisible disability.
Various events and workshops were organized to raise awareness of invisible disabilities amongst our employees. Posters are also displayed in our hotels, establishments and head offices.
An international operation is also being organized on our internal supports and social media as well as an international photo contest, relayed by the hashtag
INITIATIVES FROM ACCORHOTELS – TEAM MALDIVES
Promoting Disability Inclusive Development Forum in coordination with United Nations Development Program, Maldives AccorHotels Team Maldives in coordination with UNDP Maldives is working towards
inclusive equality for people with disabilities and have shared constructive commitments towards this objective to focus on the identified areas that needs accessibility under the scope of resort operations in private sector category.
Some of these commitments include:
Perception and attitude towards persons with disabilities by service providers
Sensitization in the workplace
Workplace training for both people with disability and all staff
More opportunities for promotion
Employers’ perceptions on the benefits of hiring PWD (currently believe that a
positive image is the only benefit)
Families’, societal perceptions on the capacity of PWD to work
Lack of community integration plans for PWDs
Welcoming others, recognizing them, learning from their differences, valuing them: these are some of the founding principles of our managerial approach, which is embedded in our DNA, the key to our shared success, and also a real day-to-day challenge. That’s why we say “We are proud of our differences”.
